Hinkley Point C Liner Assemblies

Global Energy Group’s fabrication division completed the fabrication of six 5.3m diameter Liner assemblies, six vertical transport frames and six 6m diameter Casings for EDF’s Hinkley Point C nuclear power station on behalf of Balfour Beatty. The Liner assemblies are a crucial component of the nuclear power plant's cooling system.​

GEG provided practical input into design concepts & development, including the fabrication of test rigs and trialling the manufacture of “first of kind” components for validation of the design.​

In total approx. 3,200 tonnes of steelwork were manufactured, including significant forging, welding, and machining in Super Duplex material.
