Ithaca Captain EOR Caisson for TechnipFMC

Global Energy Group’s fabrication division at the Port of Nigg completed the fabrication of the 238Te Ithaca Captain EOR Caisson for TechnipFMC.​

Fabrication of the 1.3m diameter x 120m long caisson (which is the longest structure to have been fabricated onsite) took place at the Port of Nigg and was completed within one of the large assembly workshops. The structure was transported and loaded out from the new East Quay. ​

This complex caisson included 14 internal risers and J-Tubes, ranging from 4” to 12” carbon steel and 6” super duplex lines, all in a tight and challenging configuration. In addition, structural fabrication was required for the protection cages around the breakout pipework at both the top and bottom ends of the caisson.
