Moray West Offshore Wind Farm J-Tube Frames

Global Energy Group’s fabrication division completed the fabrication of two J-Tube frames - weighing a combined 591 tonnes - destined for the Moray West Offshore Wind Farm for Ocean Winds.​

The J-Tube cages are 38m and 31m in length respectively, and 12m in diameter. The structures support the steel tubes that protect the cables coming from the wind turbines into the offshore substations, as well as the cables exporting the power to shore.​

The project was completed at the Port of Nigg, where the J-Tube cages were integrated with the transition pieces for the offshore substations prior to being installed offshore.
