Riser Caissons & Tie-in Spools for the Tyra East Development

Global Energy Group Fabrication recently completed the fabrication of two riser caissons and associated tie-in spools for the Tyra East Development executed by Boskalis.

The 48” caisson measuring 66m in length included three internal risers – 24”, 16” and 12” carbon lines. Including the temporary structural support frame, the total weight was 105Te. The 26” Riser was of similar size and weighed 36Te including the support frame.

Several concrete coated tie-in spools, measuring on average 50m in length and in the region 50Te each, were also loaded onto Boskalis’ vessel ‘Boa Sub C’ via the Port of Nigg’s recently completed east quay.
